Most of my day was spent babysitting. I spent a lot of time with my family, including celebrating Christmas with them. The rest of my winter break consisted of using gifts I received, and spending the money I earned. Over Christmas break, I did a lot of exciting activities.
Most of my day was spent babysitting. Although we were on a break from school, I wasn’t on a break from my responsibilities at home. A little while after I woke up my parents would leave for work, and I would have to babysit my little brother. On some days, one of my families close friends would drop off their little boy for me to babysit too. Throughout the day we do many things, from drawing, to building blanket forts, or just watching cartoons. I also babysat a bunch of kids on New Year's Eve for my parents and their close friends. Even though my parents don’t pay me for watching my brother, I do get paid for babysitting other kids. Since I don’t spend whatever money I make right away, I have quite a lot saved up and hope to add on to it. Others might not like the hassle of taking care of kids, even if it’s just for a short amount of time, but I do and I’m glad I was able to spend my Christmas break with them. I spent a lot of time with my family, including celebrating Christmas with them. Family is a big priority for me, so a lot of my Christmas Break was spent with and around them. My family has a tradition to go to my grandparents’ house on Christmas Eve, but this year they were renovating so everyone came to my house. Although it wasn’t like our normal Christmas Eve we all had a great time, and our evening consisted of eating a homemade dinner, opening presents, playing games, and just spending time enjoying each others company. Once everyone left and we cleaned up, we were all pretty tired, so my brother and I went to bed. The next morning we woke up to my parents and sister talking in the livingroom. After we all felt awake my sister, my brother, and I went through our stockings to find sweets, and for my brother, toy cars, and for my sister and I, makeup and gift cards. We continued to open and give presents until there was nothing left but the decorative bows we put on our heads. A little while later, as a tradition, we went to my grandma’s house on my dad’s side of our family. When we got there we were greeted with joyful family members, and the delicious aroma of our dinner being prepared. Since we had some time to pass until dinner was served, we spent the time catching up and playing games. After we ate, we then opened our gifts and thanked everyone. By the time we left we had a lot of fun and a lot of leftovers, but it was pretty late. Since everyone was exhausted we hurried to bed once we arrived home. The rest of my winter break consisted of using gifts I received, and spending the money I earned. Since I had a lot of gift cards that I could use, my mom and I went to the mall a few days after Christmas. We went all over, from store to store, and we spent most of our day there. Like any girl would, we bought quite a bit, which included clothes, furniture, and art supplies. Although I’m not the best at it, I love to draw. Most of the presents I got for Christmas, had something to do with art. Because I had so much art supplies, after Christmas and going shopping, I spent most of the time drawing or painting. I drew a variety of things, and a painted a few things. Other than drawing I read a lot. In fact, I finished two books over break. Overall I had a great Christmas break. I spent plenty of time with my family. When I wasn’t shopping or visiting family, I was reading or drawing. Although people may have had a more exciting Christmas break than me, I wouldn’t have change mine.
